Da Vicino Nessuno è Normale
August 3 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

24 June to 30 September, 2023
The exhibition can be visited on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm; on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, as well as participating in the guided tours of Sorella Follia scheduled on the last Saturday every month.
The large papier-mâché and iron sculptures with strong grotesque characters by the artist Matteo Raciti are the protagonists of the exhibition Da Vicino Nessuno è Normale, from 24 June to 30 September in the former psychiatric hospital of Maggiano, headquarters of the Mario Tobino Foundation.
The exhibition, curated by Chiara Martine Menchetti, is an intense and touching story of mental illness in all its aspects, beyond conventions and stereotypes. The spectator can confront his deepest self and identify himself with these enormous and grotesque paper souls, causing his most fragile and hidden part to come out without being denied.
An introspective journey full of emotions, which invites you to look inside and talk to your most intimate part.
The exhibition is an invitation to reflect on the delicate issue of mental health through the universal and transversal language of art facing a social taboo and make it tangible and understandable.
Furthermore, the exhibition is enriched by a photographic installation by Valentina Ragozzino, who recounts the process of creating these large sculptures with sensitivity and character.
A contribution is requested in favor of the maintenance and safety of the former asylum structure.
