The appointments with Nuovo cinema Boccherini continue and the programs of the Guitar Festival and the Wind Festival are coming to life, with concerts and masterclasses of international level. Appointments also with the Bass Festival and with Open Piano.

“Igor Stravinsky. Le Rossignol” by C. Chaudet

Appointment introduced by Alessandra Fiori, professor of History of music at the “Boccherini” Conservatory.

Film-opera directed by Christian Chaudet and based on the musical fairy tale in three acts (1907-14) by Igor Stravinsky. Orchestra and chorus of the Paris National Opera conducted by James Conlon. Dedicated to Jacques Demy.

“Farinelli, queen voice” by Gérard Corbiau

Introduction by Alessandra Fiori

Directed by Gérard Corbiau, Farinelli – Voce regina is a 1994 film about the life of the famous 18th century castrato singer Carlo Broschi, better known as Farinelli. The film was awarded Best Foreign Language Film at the Golden Globes and received an Oscar nomination.

In the eighteenth century the Apulian Carlo Broschi, emasculated at the age of ten, became the most famous soprano in the musical history of Europe with the name of Farinelli. His older brother Riccardo became his impresario and composed half a dozen operas for him. But despite the wealth, fame and women in Farinelli’s life, true love is missing.
