Barga Piazzette

The month of July in Barga will see the return in style of perhaps the most anticipated summer event, and certainly always more in the nightlife of the Serchio Valley:
Le Piazzette. In many squares, evocative corners, local associations of the historic center themselves will offer special evenings, including gastronomy, good living and music. The event will be every evening, non-stop, from 14 to 25 July 2022.
The event is organized by the municipality of Barga and the Pro Loco and with the participation of the public premises of the Castle and many associations This year there will be twelve days of gastronomy, music, entertainment, artistic events and exceptional cultural offers for this event which takes place in the splendid setting of the old Barga.
In different corners of Barga there will be many gastronomic or tasting squares, Shamrock terrace, Piazzale del Fosso, Porta Reale, Piazza delle Mura, Piazza Annunziata, Piazza del Teatro, Piazza Angelio, Piazza Salvi, Asilo Donnini, Terrazza Stanze della Memoria, Piazza del Sargentone, Garden of Mercy; Piazza Ser Barghesano and Podere della Vignola) offered both by public places and by various associations, but “le Piazzette” will also be a lot of good music, of particular quality and above all live with a program studied in every detail.
It should be known that during these evenings the concerts (starting around 10 pm) offered in the various squares will be about fifty. As for the gastronomic proposals, in addition to the many bars of Barga Vecchia in the front row also the return of the Amateurs of Castelvecchio (gardens of Mercy) of the volunteers of the Parish (Podere della Vignola); of the GS Barga (piazza delle Mura); of the Stray Cats (terraces rooms of Memory); of the Polentari di Filecchio who, however, in Piazza Ser Barghesano will only be present on 15 and 16 July.
Le Piazzette will also be much more; starting with some evenings that will offer guided tours of the historic center, but also daytime initiatives, such as the “Itinerary of the Herbs” that the expert Ivo Poli will propose on the morning of 23 July. Among the collateral events there is also the initial proposal of the literary festival “Tra le lines di Barga” which, organized by Prospettiva Editrice and Libreria Poli, will accompany the first days of the festival from 14 to 17 July in the historic center in front of the old municipal library in Piazza Giannetti. Illustrious Italian authors will participate.
