Boom! Italian Fashion (last week)

Fashion, craftsmanship and Made in Italy: “Boom! Italian fashion” is the exhibition organized by the Banca del Monte di Lucca Foundation on the proposal and conception of Sabrina Mattei, 70 years after the first fashion show in the “Sala Bianca” of Palazzo Pitti in Florence , and begins on Saturday 6 August 2022 at Villa Bertelli in Forte dei Marmi.

 “The ‘BOOM! Italian fashion ‘is based on some masterpieces of those years – explains Sabrina Mattei, creator and curator of the project and of the exhibition for the Banca del Monte di Lucca Foundation – created by Schubert, Gucci and the Kimo shoe on kind loan from the Ferragamo Foundation between the others, and on the restitution that the nascent high fashion had on the Italian province. An original point of view that has opened public and private collections not only from Tuscany and Florence, but also from northern and southern Italy “.

On display will also be shots from the Locchi archive (the largest photographic archive on the history of Florence and Tuscany) and the great fashion photographer: Mario Semprini, whose daughter Marina has exclusively opened the family archive. One room, with vintage furnishings (Torcigliani collection), will be dedicated to the projection of some period films from the Istituto Luce and Rai Teche. “We are proud to host an event at Villa Bertelli that pays tribute not only to fashion, one of the best known and most appreciated sectors of Made in Italy, but also to a fellow citizen, who had the ability and foresight to help create this fascinating business ”, declared the chairman of the board of Villa Bertelli, Ermindo Tucci. “A passionate man, a lover of beauty and able to anticipate the times, in the name of a vision, capable of bringing Italy to the top of fashion in the world”.
