Matthias Krella studied Catholic church music at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf and graduated with the A exam. Since 1994 he has been cantor in Langenfeld at the parish of St. Josef, and since 1999, the pastoral church musician for the city of Langenfeld.
In church music, his main focus is on working as an organist, leading the church and children’s choir and working with children and youth choirs. In addition to chamber music, choir and instrumental concerts, he has introduced his own series of singspiels, musicals and children’s concerts in Langenfeld for several years.
Since 2002 CD recordings with children’s concerts in the series “Classic for Children” in the topsound publishing house with Cosima Breidenstein, violin and Matthias Krella, piano. Founding of the choral ensemble “Take 8”, rehearsal of choral works of all stylistic epochs. Matthias Krella took part in organ master courses with Peter Planyawsky, Michael Radulescu, Daniel Roth and Thierry Mechler, as well as choral conducting master courses with Prof. Ericson, Prof. Wippermann, Prof. Schuhenn and Prof. Schäfer.
Today, his concerts take him as a pianist and organist, as a soloist or in an ensemble, through Germany, France, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, Ibiza, Hungary, Lebanon and now Italy.
