Centennial Anniversary of the American Battle Monuments Commission

The American Battle Monuments Commission is honored to invite you to its centennial anniversary commemoration at the Florence American Cemetery. The ABMC Commission is 100 years old and was created after WWI. Just south of Florence, resting in reflection is the cemetery and an important part of the story of Italy’s liberation from Fascism and embrace of democracy. The event is open to the public, as is the Cemetery — worthy of a visit some other time if the commemoration event does not work for you.
