Concert in the Botanical Garden

Friday (1 July) Il Canto degli Alberi will start , the summer concert festival that takes place every year in the botanical garden. Organized by Flam – Lucca Federation of Musical Associations, together with the Municipality of Lucca and the botanical garden itself, the event is part of the Vivi Lucca calendar .
The program includes eight concerts, every Friday evening at 9.15 pm, from July 1st to August 19th inclusive . The public will have to pay for access to the botanical garden, which for the evenings has been specially reduced to the sum of 3 euros.

This year’s program is particularly interesting and sees the presence of soloists and also ensembles with different instruments.
On July 8 (again at 9.15 pm) it will be the turn of the trio composed by Luca Celoni and Valeria Barsanti, violins; Carlo Benvenuti, cello, who will perform music by Bach, Boccherini, Haydn, Cremont.
On 15 July welcome and awaited return of the soloists of the Malfatti Academy with the director Benjamin Smith, a traditional presence in the festival, which however had been interrupted by the Coranavirus emergency.
22 July at 9.15 pm piano concert by Fabio Menchetti with music by Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin. Fabio Menchetti is an established pianist from Lucca who works in the US as a teacher.
On 29 July at 9:15 pm it will be the turn of the Guitar duo formed by Gabriele Balzerano and Edoardo Pieri (guitars) with an entire and interesting program dedicated to the music of Johann Paul Schiffelholtz.
5 August at 9.15 pm Irene Vecoli, violin and Michele Franceschi (piano) will present music by Mozart, Beethoven, Dvorak .
On 12 August an evening entitled Musical lounge : a musical itinerary from baroque to romanticism, with Michelangelo Lazzareschi on the transverse flute and Andrea Solinas on the harp.
The festival will end on August 19 with the piano concert by Gilberto Rossetti, a young and promising pianist.
