Contemporary Art Installation Exhibition

February 20, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - February 26, 2023 @ 6:00 pm
Free

The Imaginary Order installation by Enrico Vezzi, curated by Angel Moya Garcia.

Presented at La Portineria in Florence and shown for the first time in its entirety in the Dello Scompiglio spaces, L’Ordine Imaginaire is a work in which natural elements, books on history and politics and artefacts from various cultures unwind like a constellation flowing in function of how History has passed through us, not in chronological or pre-established order, but as a flow, according to the suggestions that emerge during the physical construction of the work. A counter-narrative of the relationship between man and the natural environment that invites us to take a physical journey, stimulating considerations on the relationship that each of us has with the current order of the world and questioning ourselves on current events to understand where humanity, throughout its history, took the wrong turn. A research on current propensities, on how they have evolved and on how they have led us to conceive society and culture as we know it today.

Empty Dances Installation by Cecilia Bertoni, curated by Angel Moya Garcia.

Four panels suspended in the darkness give life to a visual poem which is also a tribute to the work of Samuel Beckett and his literary word, stripped to the limit of their expressive possibilities. Through the language of embroidery, the linens and fabrics that make up the installation become the surface on which textures of confined spaces, images of dumbfounded or dancing figures and words engraved in relief like scars are imprinted, in a poetic universe suspended between immateriality and incarnation.

The exhibitions are open to the public until February 26, 2023. Thursdays through Sundays 14h to 18h
