Cross Bow Shooting Competition

The activities of the Contrade San Paolino association continue at full speed. The second appointment in the 2022 events calendar is for Sunday 15 May at 3.30 pm at the Campo Tiri della Repubblica di Lucca – in Via Pattana in Pontetetto with the 4th Palio delle Contrade San Paolino .
On this occasion the 30 crossbowmen divided into 4 districts (Falcone, Granchio, Luna, Sirena) will compete in a single- shot competition on a single target (corniolo) positioned 36 meters away. The district that will obtain the highest score, adding the scores of all the individual shooters belonging to the same district, will win the coveted prize: a cloth painted by Dario “Lustro” Barsotti from Lucca – here some of his works by him.
At the Casermetta San Paolino, the new headquarters of the association, an exhibition of Lustro’s paintings has been set up , which will remain open to the public until Sunday 15 May, together with the drape and other finds of the association, such as bench crossbows and drapes of previous events. The opening hours of the exhibition are from 9:30 to 12:30 and from 15:30 to 18:30.

- 16.00 Start of the race in dogwood
- 16.45 Verification of the shots to decree the winning district
