XVIII Day of Contemporary
Open doors at Tenuta Dello Scompiglio
free admission to permanent works
On Saturday 8 October, the Tenuta Dello Scompiglio di Vorno (Capannori, Lucca) opens its doors to the public on the occasion of the XVIII Giornata Del Contemporaneo, an annual event organized by AMACI and dedicated to contemporary art, with free admissions throughout Italy.
From 11.00 to 18.00, the permanent works will be visible free of charge:
– Sunday Lunch, environmental installation by Eugenio Tibaldi, is part of the permanent works of Dello Scompiglio as a trace of his personal exhibition Architecture of isolation, a complex and articulated project on the margins, on power, on the crossings and on the very concept of normality;
– Room # 3, environmental installation by Cecilia Bertoni and Claire Guerrier with Carl G. Beukman. A bedroom in which the visitor is invited to immerse himself in an allegorical imprisonment to get away from everyday life and enter a universe full of references, evocations, memories, fears and dreams of two women enclosed in their own solitude;
– In park of f.marquespenteado. An environmental intervention that revolves around the figure of the bench as the archetype of the pause for reflection, encounter and knowledge of one’s self;
-There is not a priori answer to this dilemma (The Dolphin Hotel) by Francesca Banchelli. A staircase taken from an old building, halfway between the find and a recycled material, allows the artist to investigate the meaning of doubt and the uncertainty of the action;
– W18S, by Ettore Favini and Antonio Rovaldi. The eighteen chapters of the Walden Diary or Life in the Woods by Henry David Thoreau, engraved on stone slabs, mark with their numbering some possible paths within the Estate, suggesting to the walker / reader a beginning for an absolutely personal poetic digression and every time rewritable;
– An Exile by Valentina Vetturi. In the artist’s words, “the diary of an exile, a tale in which fiction and reality mix. An invitation to walk, mediated by memory and reflections on the condition, perhaps sought, of exile ”;
– L’Attesa, by Cecilia Bertoni with Carl G. Beukman. The installation was born as part of the first stage of Cecilia Bertoni’s performance Reflections in Black and White (Trilogy of Absence), focused on losing, losing, losers, time and memory.
– Il Cimitero della Memoria, a collective exhibition curated by Angel Moya Garcia with Cecilia Bertoni, develops on the territory of an old vineyard and collects the works of eight artists invited to propose a vision and a subjective reading of their relationship with memory;
– Arias for the Scompiglio by Alfredo Pirri. Located in the spaces of the Chapel, the work consists of a walkable crystal floor whose thickness contains a large number of feathers, colored in an intense red, which create an ever-changing brightness depending on the movement of sunlight.

The Progetto Dello Scompiglio conceived and directed by the director and artist Cecilia Bertoni, comes to life in the homonymous estate, located on the outskirts of Lucca, on the hills of Vorno; a reality in which the activities related to the visual and performing arts in the internal and external spaces and the dialogue and activities with the earth, with the forest, with the fauna, with the architectural element contribute to a search for culture. Each choice relating to the Project is therefore evaluated in relation to its environmental sustainability, through forms of interaction and responsibility. The Cultural Association of the same name operates inside the Tenuta Dello Scompiglio, next to the farm and the kitchen of Dello Scompiglio. The Association has been creating, producing and hosting shows, concerts, exhibitions, installations since 2007; creates artist residencies, workshops, courses and workshops; organizes and proposes outdoor performance itineraries, guided tours, Feldenkrais Method® lessons; manages the Performing and Exhibition Space (SPE). Finally, particular attention is dedicated to cultural activities for children and young people, with theatrical reviews, workshops and summer camps. www.delloscompiglio.org
