La Befana

La Befana, an old witch dressed in rags flying in the sky on her broom, brings sweets and presents to all the good children and coal to those who have been bad.
Once again this year the popular committee of Piazza San Francesco in collaboration with the firefighters of Lucca and the Coop of Sant’Anna is organizing the traditional Befana Festival which has been taking place without interruption for 27 years. The initiative is supported by the contribution of the Municipality of Lucca and is included in the Lucca Magico Natale calendar in the Fabbrica del Natale events – ex comics museum.
The Befana, given last year’s success, will return with a route on the urban walls ; Thursday (January 5) at 2.30 pm our beloved old lady, aboard a vehicle made available to the firefighters, will leave the Casa Del Boia and in a clockwise direction, will travel along the walls and then get off at the Tabacco Factory and go to the Ex Museum of Comics where he will meet the girls and boys around 4.30pm
