Giostra Ghibellina – Crossbowmen Tournament

New appointment with the crossbowmen from Lucca who are back in action on the shooting ranges by organizing the 4th edition of the Giostra Ghibellina.
The name of the tournament is inspired by the well-known Lucca leader Castruccio Castracani, Ghibelline par excellence, who was the first to use a huge force of crossbowmen, made up of Lucca and Genoese, to march on Rome in 1328 together with Ludovico IV the Bavaro, who he was crowned Holy Roman Emperor thanks to this feat.
The crossbow companies belonging to the LITAB, coming from the cities of Assisi, Pisa, Prarostino, Terra del Sole and Ventimiglia, will participate in this challenge.
About 70 crossbowmen will participate in the competitions.
The appointment is for Sunday 31 July at the Campo Tiri della Repubblica di Lucca in Via Pattana in Pontetetto (LU), with the start of the races starting at 15.00.
