Liberation Festival in Lucca

You are invited to the ceremony for the Anniversary of the Liberation and to the numerous scheduled events organized for the next 25th of April.

The institutional celebrations will begin at 9.30 in Piazza XX Settembre, while the Holy Mass is scheduled for 10.00 in the cathedral of S. Martino. The public ceremony will continue in the Cortile degli Svizzeri at 11.00 with speeches by the authorities and official speeches.

For the occasion, free guided tours of the monumental halls of Palazzo Ducale will also be organised.

From 15.00 to 18.00 the extraordinary opening of the Museum of the Risorgimento, of the Museum of the history of Italian emigration “Cresci” and of the Napoleonic olfactory path “The nose and history” set up on the noble floor of Palazzo Ducale is scheduled.

It will also be possible to visit the exhibitions of Lucca Film Festival and Europa Cinema 2019 again, extended until 25 April.

At 15.00 and 16.30 there are guided tours of the Teatro del Profumo and the monumental halls of Palazzo Ducale. Admission is free with reservations required.

The day will end with a concert by the singer-songwriter Nada in Piazza San Francesco at 18.00 (free admission).
