Living Nativity in Ruota near Lucca

On the feast day of Santo Stefano, the hilltop village of Ruota is transformed into a small Bethlehem, welcoming citizens and visitors among its narrow streets who have the opportunity to live for a day in a medieval village.
In the middle of the Christmas holidays, in the municipality of Capannori, there is a living representation of the nativity scene: the streets of the town, with the shops of ancient arts and crafts, are teeming with extras and visitors, among whom it is not difficult to meet Maria and Joseph.
The main representation of the event takes place in the late afternoon: the figures reach the central square of Ruota in the evocative, typically Christmas atmosphere created by the lighting of the torches, to then give life to the scene of the Nativity.
To accompany everything, entertainment for children and teenagers and a concert, with typically Christmas tunes, performed by local artists. Naturally, it is also possible to visit the craft shops and buy typical products from medieval figures!
