Every edition, the Biennale chooses a contemporary theme as a common thread of all its activities, events and exhibitions. Paper artists, performers, designers and architects are invited to reflect on the theme with the aim of creating a bridge between art and society.
Lucca Biennale Cartasia cares deeply about the environment and territory and has always promoted paper and cardboard recycling through the reuse of materials. Meetings and roundtables with industry professionals together with workshops for children are aimed at raising awareness on this topic.
In 2022, sustainability will be the driving force of the event.
