Lucca Embraces Lucca
On the occasion of the National Day in memory of the victims of the coronavirus epidemic at Palazzo Orsetti the managing director for youth policies Daniele Bianucci, Fulvio Pietramala deputy director of the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali Boccherini and director of the MAI Master, the psychiatrist Enrico Marchi and the curators of the project Martina Zipoli and Cristina Mei presented “Lucca Abbraccia Lucca”.
The event will take place on Saturday 7 May in the evening in the stands of the city walls of Lucca .
The installation will consist of 500 figures , whose shadows will be projected through the use of the spotlights in the stands to illuminate the walls around the entire ring of the Walls, so as to create a collective embrace to the city.
During the installation, which will last five minutes , the participants will connect with their mobile phones to Radio Duemila which will dedicate a broadcast to the event and will broadcast the music specially composed by the students of the Boccherini Institute.
The municipal administration with Lucca Abbraccia Lucca proposes to offer a positive reaction response, to return to the other and to share through a collective artistic performance where every citizen, individual or in association, is invited to take part, to be the protagonist of an emotional and emotional experience, dedicated to the return of contact and relationship with others.
“Hugs are the gesture that we missed most during the pandemic – declared Daniele Bianucci, director of youth policies – the administration immediately welcomed the proposal of the two young creatives with enthusiasm for the great symbolic value it embodies, we have drawn up a collaboration agreement that combines culture and health as common goods “.
How to participate
All citizens are invited to take part in the collective symbolic performance which will involve over 500 participants. It will be possible to book through the ticketing platform https://cultura.comune.lucca.it by choosing the sector where to place.
On April 20 at 9 pm in the auditorium of the ‘Boccherini’ Institute the original pieces made by the students will be presented, among which the one for the event will be chosen.
During the month of April at the Casa della memoria events and meetings dedicated to the themes of the pandemic and its social and psychological consequences dedicated to the most affected generations, in particular students and young people, will be organized in collaboration with the psychiatrist Enrico Marchi and – for the ‘USL North West Tuscany – with the director of the Hospital-Territory Continuity Psychology structure of the ASL and head of the Lucca Clinic Patrizia Fistesmaire and with the head of the education and health promotion structure in the north Valeria Massei
