Lucca Summer Festival – Zucchero

Zucchero for the first time  at the Walls of Lucca for an extraordinary evening event

 Lucca Summer Festival  announces an extraordinary evening event with one of the most appreciated Italian artists in the world: Sugar/Zucchero. The Emilian singer-songwriter, who in the past had performed at LSF in Piazza Napoleone will go up this time instead on the stage next to the Walls of Lucca, in that extraordinary space that was inaugurated by the Rolling Stones and which has then become the place of the super events of LSF with the concerts that followed one another starring Roger Waters, Elton John and Ennio Morricone.

An evening event in which Zucchero will present the songs of his extraordinary career together with those present in his latest album “Discover”, an album in which he reinterpreted great songs by other artists. “I had been thinking about a cover album for a long time and if it took me a long time it is because the tracks you find here are the latest skimming of a selection that initially included about 500 of the songs that I loved the most in my life” Zucchero declared who then added “The songs I chose represent exactly what I and my two souls in music are: the best Italian melodic tradition and the deepest Afro-American roots” The album also features Michael Stipe and Aaron Dessner’s “Love Now” and Bono’s “Canta la Vita”, “songs that have never been released on record by the authors, but after having listened to them casually online during the acute phase of the pandemic, I fell in love with it and asked my friends for permission to adapt the text in Italian ”
