Next appointment with Meraki Market will be on June 2, 3, 4, 10:00am-8:00pm at the Portico of Santa Caterina, Real Collegio, Lucca. A special occasion to admire new creations of artists and creatives of “Meraki Lucca Association” and to visit the wonderful cloister open to the public only in events of this type.

This weekend there is great news: the artists and creatives of Meraki will meet the public to talk about their techniques and their passion … you will be able to learn about the materials and the construction methods used in a specific handmade object. They probably won’t reveal all their secrets but some stages of the various processes can be appreciated. Meetings every day, in the morning at 11.30 and in the afternoon at 15.30.
The artists you will meet are as follows:

Friday morning: Michaela Kasparova, artist of Czech origin who lives and works in Lucca. She is eclectic and uses different materials for her works, paintings and fabric “sculptures”. She will talk about her mixed materials and how she employs paper, fabric and acrylics for her creations.

Afternoon: Isabel Pacini, French artist, has lived and worked in Italy for many years. She is a designer and painter and for the creation of her jewellery she uses the ancient technique of lost wax casting which allows her to create unique and highly original pieces. She will talk about this technique and the various finishing operations.

Saturday morning: Clara Ceci, Milanese by birth, has lived for many years in Tuscany where she deals with natural fabrics, creating wonderful clothing accessories. She will talk about felt, her story and the technique she uses to make her accessories: nunofelt.

Saturday afternoon: Giuliana Verdelli, from Trieste, has lived in Tuscany for twenty years. She is known internationally for her bead weaving creations. Bead designer, she holds workshops in Europe and in Italy. She will talk about her technique: the use of glass microbeads to make artistic jewellery.

Sunday morning: Sydney Passey, British, has lived for many years in Lucca, where she teaches her own language. Her great passion is knitting. She will talk about her love of yarn and knitted fabric and her very sweet soft toys made with this technique. She will chat in English.

Sunday afternoon: Elena Cordini Franchi, Tuscan ceramicist who, in recent years, has dedicated herself to the production of Azulejos de Arista, relief tiles typical of the Seville tradition of the 16th century, with which she creates paintings and covers walls.
