DANILO ROSSI A pupil of some of the most important viola masters (Fabrizio Merlini, Piero Farulli, Dino Asciolla, YuriBashmet) and chamber music (Paolo Borciani and the Trio di Trieste), Danilo Rossi graduated at 19 with full marks and honors , but already from the age of 16 he had made a name for himself by winning his first International Competition.
As soon as he graduated, he passed the competition for First Viola Soloist of the Orches-tra of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, becoming the youngest instrumentalist in the history of the Thousand-nese Theater to have held this role.
From that moment on, Danilo Rossi’s career will be studded with a series of meetings, concerts, festivals, recitals that will take him around the world, performing in the most important theaters and in the most prestigious concert halls. “Vittorio Veneto”, for two consecutive years winner of the Diploma of Honor of the Accademia Chigiana, ECYO member since the age of 16, Winner of the Second Prize and the Special Jury Prize at the “Yuri Bashmet” Competition in Moscow. In 2018 he was awarded the Mauro Ranieri Prize and in 2021 the Classic Voice magazine named him one of the 10 most important personalities in the music scene. “As a soloist he performed the entire repertoire for viola under the guidance of Riccardo Muti, Gianandrea Gavazzeni, Riccardo Chailly , Gianandrea Noseda, Ottavio Dantone, Mung Wung Chung, Seji Ozava, Zubin Mehta, Mario Brunello, Anton Nanut, Antonello Manacorda, Daniele Rustioni, with some of the most important orchestras (Filarmonica della Scala, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, the Orchestra d ‘ ArchiItaliana, Rai of Turin, Regional Orchestra of Tuscany, Regio of Turin, Süddeutsches Kammerorches-ter, Moscow Philharmonic, Budape Philharmonic
STEFANO BEZZICCHERI began a fruitful collaboration with Danilo Rossiin 1988, 1st viola soloist of the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra with whom an extraordinary musical understanding was created. To date, several hundred recitals have been held in Italy and abroad, in which the entire repertoire for viola and piano is covered. There are numerous recordings, in audio and video for RAI1, RAI 3 and numerous private networks.
This year the duo celebrates 30 years of activity. As a soloist and in a piano duo with Pierluigi di Tella he has made several recordings; as a chamber musician he regularly collaborates in various formations, playing with: Francesco Manara, Sonig Khatcherian, Dora Schwarzberg, Mario Brunello, Enrico Dindo, Alexander Gebert, Alfredo Persichilli, Enrico Bronzi, Luca Simoncini, Fabrizio Meloni, Corrado Giuffredi, Giuseppe Ettorre, Sergio Azzolini, with whom he has already held concerts in various European countries, in Russia and in the United States of America.
