Palazzo Pfanner Guided Movie Tour “Il Marchese del Grillo”

After the success of December, the day in Lucca dedicated to the famous film ” Il Marchese del Grillo ” directed by Mario Monicelli and starring Alberto Sordi , historical comedy blockbuster of the 1981-82 film season, with 12 billion lire , returns by popular demand. has become over time a real cult and thus celebrate the 40th anniversary of the theatrical release of this true masterpiece.
The location of the Palazzo di Onofrio del Grillo is Palazzo Pfanner , a magnificent sixteenth-eighteenth-century palace which, together with its garden, is located between the medieval center of the Tuscan city and the city walls and stands out for its splendid Italian garden attributed to Filippo Juvarra and for the imposing staircase and for the frescoes in the monumental hall by Scorsini and De Santi.
Inside, some of the most memorable and entertaining scenes of the film were shot, which will be presented to us by a tour guide and the journalist Umberto Guidi , author together with Fabrizio Borghini of the book “ Lucca al Cinema ”.
