The Symphony No. 2 by Ezio Bosso finds inspiration in the violin forest of Val di Fiemme where the so-called resonance fir trees grow, from which luthiers from all over the world, starting with Stradivari himself, went to select the woods for the construction of the soundboards of their own instruments. The occasion leads the Maestro to deal with the theme of musical roots, the forest and its sounds, the morphology and growth of trees according to evolutionary patterns of mathematical matrix that become musical cells of minimalist ancestry.
