Pop Art Exhibition

November 4, 2022 @ 10:00 am - November 14, 2022 @ 5:00 pm
Free

Bigo, born David Bigotti, 46 years old, is a designer from Lucca, legitimate son of the 80s and of the imprinting of Goldrake & Co. As a child, in fact, he spends his days with the pen in hand, creating his first comic at the age of 9, drawing a short story about the cult movie “the Goonies”. After graduating from the Passaglia state artistic high school in Lucca, in 2005 he graduated in industrial design at the faculty of architecture in Florence. For 18 years he has been designing and following the construction of the interiors of mega yachts for a shipyard in Viareggio for 18 years, while he dedicates his nights to his great passion for graphic arts, giving life to illustrations, characters and comic strips.

He creates his tables mainly digitally, although more and more often he recovers the “old way” by drawing in pencil, inking and finally coloring in watercolor. Significant consensus also received the tables completely made with ballpoint pen, dedicated to the characters of POP culture, some of these works were published in March 2021 in the volume “Venti d’Arte Artbook” published by Venti D’arte Edizioni.
He has created posters for various events and most recently for the Lucca Bike Evolution 2022.
He participated for the first time in Lucca Comics & Games 2021 in the self area, after which in 2022 he was invited as a guest to Falcomics, San Marino Comics, Feast of the unicorn of Vinci.

In 2019, he gave life to the crazy superhero totally “made in Lucca,” IL BOSONE, a character who has watched over humanity since the dawn of time, anticipating and attending every fundamental event in history, moving in space-time thanks to the now mythical hatch, which always brings him home at the end of his adventures, inspired by a friend of the staff of Lucca Comics & Games.
The “bosonic characters” are digitally drawn and transposed onto canvas starting from 2021, where by dressing the Boson in cosplay, the artist traces the history of pop culture myths.
There are now many famous people who can boast of owning their custom canvas, among them: Giuseppe Tornatore, Max Pezzali, Ficarra & Picone, Leonardo Pieraccioni, Gianna Nannini, Vinicio Capossela, Giorgio Panariello, Francesco Lancia, PIF.
The exhibition “ONE, NESSUNO HUNDRED BOSONI” will contain a selection of 100 canvases made over the last two years of artistic creation, usable by anyone wishing to take a journey into memories and retrace a piece of pop culture history by the hand of the protagonist.
