World War II Museo della Memoria Brancoli, open with book presentation

Sunday, June 25 the Museum of Memory will be open for a public opening. Inside the Conference Room “Piergiorgio Romboli” will present the book “The Gothic Line in the Serchio Valley” by the author Gabriele Caproni and published by Pacini Fazzi.

Gabriele Caproni will provide technical and historical details on the most important defensive lines within the Serchio Valley showing and commenting on the photos that have been included in the book. A section of the book is dedicated to the fortifications of Mount Pittone and in general to the area of Brancoleria.

Gabriele will also be available to answer the questions of the people present for any information about the fortifications in our area and beyond. His historical research is in fact continuing to “map” the many fortifications present throughout the Gothic Line, not only in Lucca and Tuscany, but also in Emilia Romagna and Marche.

The Museum for this day will be open from 14:30 until 18:30. The presentation of the book will begin at approximately 15:00 until 16:00 approximately. Gabriele Caproni will subsequently be available for sale of the book and for any information.

On this day of opening of the Museum you will have the opportunity to visit the new themed rooms of the museum and to receive explanations that will allow you to know the history of the passage of the front in these areas and details of exhibits and equipment present.
