Zita di Lucca, premier at Teatro del Giglio

The Teatro del Giglio brings to the stage at the Giglio, in an absolute first performance, the chamber opera Zita di Lucca by American composer Daniel Knaggs, on a libretto written by Knaggs himself and Vincenzo Reale. The work, whose theme is the figure and life of Santa Zita, combines religious tradition and avant-garde musical language, thus covering an absolute novelty in the panorama of classical music: it is in fact the first time that a contemporary composition is dedicated to this figure so significant and relevant for the Catholic world.
