This year saw some big changes to the site! A behind-the-scenes remodel was undertaken and included making the expat generated articles easy to search by topics, as well as reorganizing, updating, and adding important expat resource information: Where’s the bus? The taxis? What language schools are available?
We added the very popular ‘Did You Know?’ series to our content, the sometimes weekly column about interesting tidbits and services available in Lucca. You can find a link to the entire series on the navigation bar under Articles > ‘Did You Know?’ A huge thanks to our main contributor, Christine Stava, whose curiosity about the beautiful city of Lucca spurred her on to find answers to her questions!
On the calendar side, after a year and a half of information gathering and bi-weekly social media ‘What’s Happening’ posts, we made the jump this summer to the comprehensive and professionally done Lucca Turismo Events Calendar, a beautiful online calendar available in both English and Italian. With a calendar this well done, why reinvent the wheel? We are excited to link this free service right on the navigation bar, and thank you to our volunteer staff who contributed to the LuccaNews calendar in 2023: Libby Binstead, JoAn Shear Ferguson, Zadia Lenders, Diana Stidl, Christine Stava.
