Did you know…..it’s nearly Carnivale time in Lucca? Carnival in Italy is a farewell party to eat, drink, and have fun before the limitations and solemnity of Lent. About a month before Ash Wednesday, Italians celebrate over many weekends with parades, masks, and confetti. Read more here.
This year is promised to be a spectacular event covering the entire month of February! Starting on the weekend of 4 February at 3:00 pm the parade of masks on the Walls of Lucca will commence at Porta Sant’Anna. Two large screens will be installed at the Caffè delle Mura and in Piazza San Michele, which will show images of the Viareggio Carnival floats from the 2024 edition during the parade. There will be installations and activities in the main piazzas, along with restaurants and shops ready for the celebration. For more information check out these following links:
