Montecarlo Wine Festival Final Weekend

September 10, 2022 @ 8:00 am - September 11, 2022 @ 5:00 pm

Eleven days of events including food stands, tastings, craft markets, exhibitions and shows will light up the small Tuscan village of Montecarlo from Thursday 1st to Sunday 11th September, attracting, as every year, many visitors from all over the territory, to get to know its true protagonist: the wine. In fact, wine will be the common thread of all the evenings of the Montecarlo festival, which as usual will unfold between the three main locations of the town: in Piazza d’Armi with the food and wine proposal of the local stands, the tasting area of piazza Garibaldi and in the cloister of the Pellegrini Carmignani institute, with the Salotto del vino e del verde.

Six evenings plus 2 specials – with two dishes and two more tastings – curated by local restaurateurs and chefs together with wine producers, to propose combinations of cuisine and wine with a different gastronomic theme every day.

The art of cooking and wine will also be accompanied by visual art, with exhibitions scattered throughout.

A varied offer that combines tradition and novelty: the 54th Monte Carlo Wine Festival aims to return to the levels of participation of the pre-pandemic.  As in past years, “we will accompany the wine with the delicacies of the territory – says the managing director for tourism, Fulvio Donatini – We will do it by proposing the main events in Piazza d’Armi with the food stands and in Piazza Garibaldi, with a more peaceful meeting dedicated to tasting. In the cloister of the Pellegrini Carmignani institute, on the other hand, the wine and greenery lounge will be set up, with 8 evenings each with a different gastronomic theme combined with wine tastings “.

The salon of wine and greenery will begin on Sunday 4th September and will end on Sunday 11th to coincide with the closing evening of the Wine Festival. Featured products of excellence such as bean from Sorana, farro from Garfagnana, fish from the Tuscan coast, potatoes and flours from the Lucca and Pistoia mountains.

Another novelty of the 2022 edition will be the conduction, divided equally into 4 evenings each between the journalist and food and wine expert Fabrizio Diolaiuti and the actress Vania Della Bidia.

The musical accompaniment of each evening will be offered by the musicians of the Puccini Philharmonic of Montecarlo. Dinners have limited places and reservations are required, which will be active from 10am this Monday (22 August).
