Piazza Talk – Poignant Reflections on Renewal Paired with the Intense Flavors of Pasta Vesuvius

The solemn procession on Venerdi Santo returned to Lucca after a two-year absence. Due to the pain in the world at the moment it was even more poignant. The members of the Arcicofraternita della Misericordia of Lucca, barefoot, dressed in black robes and hooded, carry a heavy wooden cross with an image of the crucified Jesus around seven churches in the city. The beautiful  Spring weather has created creates the desire for more Mediterranean recipes with more intense colours and intense flavours. Pasta Vesuvius or Pasta Alla Vesuviana is perfect. Of course this dish is named after the Vulcano in Enzo’s home city
